Diary 22/XXI - Excerpts from 21st-century diaries" exhibition

The Espace Culturel et Artistique de Walferdange (CAW) has inaugurated a new exhibition entitled "L'Agenda 22/XXI - Extrait de journaux intime du XXIe siècle", on view until 11 December 2022.

The aim of this group exhibition is "to put ourselves into perspective through ourselves, using the right format", explains curator Ivana Cekovic. The fifteen or so participating artists were asked to create miniature works based on an event, an emotion or a moment that has occurred over the last twenty years. The theme allowed the artists to create intimate pieces, each delivering a vision or a memory according to their origins, their generations and their field of creation. The works, whether painted, sculpted or filmed, had to be in a very small/short format in order to convey a certain preciousness to visitors to the exhibition. The smaller the work, the more meticulous it is and the more carefully it should be viewed.

Discover the miniature works of Tom Faber, Marie-Josée Kerschen, Ursula Maren-Fitz, Franck Miltgen, Marie-Pierre Kirpach-Speltz, Dani Dodge, Nancy Ivanhoe, Ivana Cekovic, Yann Ney, Neckel Scholtus, Tobias Sternberg, Nathalie Tafelmacher, Ursula-Maren Fitz, Petter Krueger, Jenny Hager and Gay Summer Rick.

Artist in the spotlight

Freelance photographer since 2013, Tom Faber experiments with macro photography combined with digital retouching. The artist experiments with materials such as ink, oil or petrol and colours to create abstract shots.

For the exhibition "L'agenda 22/XXIe", the artist has decided to explore the different stages in his life as he makes the transition from childhood to adulthood.
