Álvaro Marzán Díaz is of Spanish origin. He has been based in Luxembourg since 2017, where he is developing his work as a professional artist. He has a degree in architecture (Polytechnic University of Madrid, 2006) and a degree in Fine Arts (Complutense University of Madrid, 2013).
He has exhibited at the prestigious Tomás y Valiente Cultural Centre, MovArt Gallery and Artevistas Gallery in Spain. He has also taken part in the Art Fair afrom Málaga in 2017.
Since moving to Luxembourg, Álvaro Marzán has taken part in a number of collective events, including Intro - Painting 2.0 (Galerie Beim Engel), several editions of KonschTour (Vianden), Troc'n'Brol (Rotondes) and SandBox8.
In 2018, he was granted artist status by the Ministry of Culture. He also worked as a guest artist at Schläiffmillen - Artists' Residence (2019-2020). In 2020, he will present his first solo exhibition (Kulturhaus Niederanven).
In 2021, he was appointed associate artist of neimënster, where he presented the exhibition Espace et désir. He is also taking part in a creative residency at this institution, with the support of the Ministry of Culture's Neistart grant.

The Subtile vintage furniture shop in Luxembourg City frequently welcomes artists for exhibitions within its walls. From 19 May to 18 June, AWC artist Alvaro Marzan will be displaying his new works alongside designer furniture.
