Françoise Ley
Françoise Ley was born in Luxembourg in 1977, where she lives and works. Colours were part of her world from an early age, and she soon developed a passion for drawing and painting. As a teenager, she turned to abstraction. During her studies of German and History in Freiburg, Germany, she took her first steps towards acrylic painting, which very quickly became much more than a simple passion. Gradually, painting became a necessity for her, a need to create. During her artistic training at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Trier (2005), she benefited from the teaching of Volker Altrichter, Ruth Clemens, Christine Henn, Jochen and Dagmar Wassong, among others.
In 2007, she held her first exhibition in Spain. From 2012 to 2013, Françoise Ley worked in the studio of artist Marie-Esther Baryga, then in that of Christine Henn in Trier, where she continued her training. In 2014, she had her first solo exhibition in Luxembourg at Ralph Weis. Today, Françoise Ley has her studio at 1535°C, a dynamic creative hub in the south of Luxembourg.
